Inita S. Knox, President

Inita S. Knox joined the Tampa,Florida Professional Chapter of SISTUHS, Incorporated in Fall 2018 after relocating from Palm Beach County, Florida. She has a passion for education, civil and human rights, and cultural connections. Inita is excited about the opportunity to cultivating relationships with other community partners, while finding innovative and sustainable ways to support and enhance the African American community. When she is not serving with the community with her SISTUHS, Inita enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, concerts, and the visiting the beach. Ms. Knox holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Florida A&M University, M.A. in Applied Learning and Instruction from the University of Central Florida, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Education in Program Development at the University of South Florida.

Kat Herisse, Vice-President

Karen "Kat" Herisse joined the organization on the collegiate level in 2013 at Florida Atlantic University. There she earned a B.A in Multimedia Journalism with a minor in Computer Science Engineering. Experience as a journalist, Kat has worked with the Sun-Sentinel, local TV, and campus news TV. Ms. Herisse became a member of the Tampa Professional Chapter in 2016. She is a working professional in the field of Information Technology where she serves as a Network Engineer and Project Manager for a Managed Service Provider. Her accomplishments run deep as she also has public speaking experience as a Toastmaster. Ms. Herisse has a love of writing and hope to be a published author in the near future.

Tera Mitchell, Secretary

Tera Lakes Mitchell, an Albany, Georgia native, moved to Tampa in 2011. Tera became a member of the Tampa, Florida Professional Chapter of SISTUHS, Incorporated on December 3, 2017. Becoming a member has afforded Tera opportunities to serve the local community all while cultivating meaningful relationships with other like-minded women. Tera thrives from being able to serve others. Tera is the mother of a sweet-spirited 4-year-old daughter and has been married for 7 years to her college sweetheart. Tera currently works as a Case Manager for the State of Florida and is attending the University of South Florida. In her free time, Tera enjoys writing, visiting quiet beaches, and catching up with close friends and family. Tera’s personal motto is “Be Bold!” – find your inner strength to speak up for yourself, no matter what others may think.

Calene Aristil, Treasurer

Calene Aristil was inducted into the collegiate Chapter of SISTUHS, Incorporated at the University of South Florida in Fall 2005. There she earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Currently, she is employed as an Accountant for one of Tampa Bay’s Fortune 500 companies. Calene is very keen to helping her community as a volunteer. She has volunteered with numerous organizations in the Tampa Bay area. Ms. Aristil joined the Tampa, Florida Professional Chapter of SISTUHS, Incorporated in 2014 . She served a 3- year term as Parliamentarian and is currently serving a 2-year term as Treasurer. In her free time, Calene loves spending time with family, traveling and meditating.
