Scholarship
Awarded to High School & Undergraduate Students.
All scholarship recipients are awarded at our Scholarship Luncheon.
– Eligibility Requirements –
Candidates must meet each of the following requirements:
Be an African-American female living in or from (if a college student) Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas or Polk Counties.
Be a graduating senior with plans to attend an accredited institution of higher education OR currently enrolled in either a 4-year College/University or 2-year Community College as a fulltime student.
Hold an unweighted Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher.
Have completed a minimum of 40 hours of Volunteer Service.
Attend Scholarship Workshop 101 session on December 6, 2025, from 3-5 pm at CDC of Tampa, 1907 E. Hillsborough Ave, Tampa, FL 33610.
Write a minimum 500-word Essay on the prompt below: "Describe how your life experiences and/or service in the community has prepared you to become a leader who empowers others."
2026 Scholarship Application
The application should be completed online & all supporting documents postmarked by February 06, 2026. Interviews will be scheduled the week of February 22, 2026. Recipients will be notified by March 11, 2026.
